Welcome to Noor-e-Deen (نور الدين) — a free, fully offline Islamic companion app for Sunni Muslims. The app provides daily prayer times, an automated Azaan (call to prayer) alarm, a Qibla compass, and an Islamic calendar — all without requiring an internet connection.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the app accesses and how it is used. We are committed to full transparency: Noor-e-Deen does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data with us or any third party.
Noor-e-Deen does not collect any personally identifiable information. The only data stored is on your own device using Android's SharedPreferences (a private, sandboxed local storage) and includes:
This data never leaves your device. It is never uploaded, synced, or shared in any form.
The Qibla finder screen uses your device's location sensor to calculate the compass bearing toward the Kaaba in Mecca. Location is accessed only while that screen is open and the permission is granted.

All data stored by the app is used exclusively on your device to provide the app's core features:
No data is used for advertising, profiling, analytics, or any commercial purpose.
All data is stored exclusively on your device using Android's SharedPreferences API. This is a private, app-sandboxed storage that other apps cannot access.
No backups of your prayer time settings or preferences are made to any external server or cloud service.
Noor-e-Deen does not integrate any third-party SDKs, analytics libraries, advertising networks, crash-reporting tools, or cloud services. The app is entirely self-contained.
The only external interaction occurs when you download the app from Google Play, which is subject to Google's own Privacy Policy.
Because no personal data is ever transmitted to any server, the primary security boundary is your device itself. We recommend:
The app stores only non-sensitive preference data (prayer times and UI settings). Even if accessed by another app or a malicious actor with physical device access, this data poses no privacy risk.
Noor-e-Deen does not require user accounts, does not collect personal information, and does not contain in-app purchases or advertisements. The app is suitable for users of all ages, including children under 13.
Because no personal data is collected, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations do not impose any additional obligations on this app.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be published at this URL and noted in the app's Google Play Store listing under "What's New" for the relevant version.
